Delores Ann Metz, 91, passed away on January 22, 2024, at Aberdeen Village in Olathe, KS.  Mass of Christian Burial will at 10:30 a.m. April 5, 2024, at Queen of the Holy Rosary, 71st and Metcalf, Overland Park.  Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Friday morning.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer Association.

Delores Ann Metz was born September 8, 1932, in Wichita, KS to parents Harry and Appolonia (Ottley) Newell.  She was the youngest of 10 children.  For the past 60 years she lived in the area and often played the organ in the Queen of the Holy Rosary.  She was a Master Gardner and loved to garden and volunteered at the county extension.

She was preceded in death by her husband William (married 53 years), by a son, David, a daughter, Susan.  She is survived by sons: Michael and Tonya Metz of Canyon Lake, TX, Brian and Jane Metz of Prairie Village, KS, Timothy and Kendra Metz of Lawrence, KS and daughter, Christine Metz of Zuni, VA, and by seven grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.
