Jan 14, 1949---May 27, 2023

Gerald (Jerry) H. Elevier, Jr,  74, of Kansas City, Ks.

Passed away Saturday, May 27, 2023.  A Celebration of Life will be held at the National Agricultural Center Hall of Fame at 630 N. 126th St.  Bonner Springs, KS. on June 17, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Graveside services are at Leavenworth, Veterans Cemetary for the family.  Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Tunnel to Towers @ t2t.org.

Jerry was born on January 14, 1949, in Lincoln, NE.  He honorably served his country in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1974.  Jerry has Owned and operated Auto Craft Body Shop in Kansas City, Kansas, since 1981.

Jerry was a kid at heart, always ready to play cards, pool, golf, and show cars.  He used his artistic skills everywhere and made a living restoring automobiles.  Jerry earned the name Energizer Bunny from those closest to him.  He never stopped creating or working on something.  He loved life and sharing his many talents with others.  He loved showing off his baking skills because he loved good food, especially tomatoes.  One of Jerry's exceptional skills was putting people together from all backgrounds and making things happen.  Some might have called themselves one of Jerry’s kids because he was generous and giving to those in need. Jerry was the hardest worker you have ever seen and was great with children. Jerry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Susan, five children, 15 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, 4 sisters, and 3 brothers. His mother and father, 1 sister, and 3 brothers preceded him in death.

Your memory is our keepsake from which we will never part God may have you in his keeping, but we still have you in our hearts.

Condolences

So sad that we have lost so many, and now Jerry. I met Jerry in the 8th grade at Piper. While we didn't have a lot of classes together in high school it was always fun to run into him in the hallways or to swap food with him in the cafeteria. He liked the cinnamon rolls and I preferred the plain buttered rolls. Jerry came to Piper's 1992 reunion at the Casino and we had a lot of fun as most of us were actually becoming mature by then. That was the last meeting before others in our class started passing away.

Jerry was a great guy and him and I did many things together over many years... As a youngster I had known Jerry's father (Gerald Sr) and Sr help me work on my cars in high school. After passing of Gerald Sr, Jerry kept up that tradition. I know how hard it will be without Jerry's presence for me and especially his family, but just know that he will never be forgotten for he left a heavy imprint on the lives of us all. Rest-in-Peace my friend until we all meet again...

My deepest condolences to Susan and the family. It was so sad to hear of Jerry’s passing. He will be missed by all of us ladies at the bank. On his visits to the bank, he always made sure to spoil us with Russell Stovers candy. I will miss our conversations. Rest in peace!!
