Gary E. Sowers, 56, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away May 1, 2023 at Belton Regional Medical Center at 6:15 am. His niece Courtney Edwards will be hosting a celebration of life at her house on May 20th starting at 12 noon. There will be no special services. In lieu of flowers the family is asking for contribution's to the Gary E. Sowers Memorial Fund in Care of the family.

Gary was born April 9, 1967 in Kansas City, Missouri at St. Mary's Hospital to Ellis Sowers and Sandy (Jung) Sowers. He lived most of his life in the Kansas City metro area and graduated from Olathe South High School in the class of 1985. Gary then served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of Luthern Church in Olathe, Kansas. He  was employed at 7-11 in Grandview, Missouri for about 13 years where he met some of his closest friends. During Gary's free time he was a 210+ average bowler with twenty three 300 games and ten 800 Series with 840 being his best series ever. He was a member of PBA for about 5 years. Gary was preceeded in death by his father Ellis E. Sowers (August 1991) and his grandparents, Calvin and Viola Sowers (December 1986) and William Jung Jr. (June 1995) and Mary Jung (May 2000) and his in-laws Richard (March 2015) and Karen (January 2020) Bellman. He is survived by his wife Leann Sowers, brother Scott Sowers, sister Nicole Sowers (Edwards), his aunt Martha Sowers, his mother and step father Sandy and Robert White, his 2 nieces, Madasyn Sowers and Courtney Edwards, along with his great niece Lon'dynn Edwards, his in-laws Jennifer and Elvis Garrison and Ronnie Edwards, and finally his other niece and nephew Bayleigh and Kaine Krieg along with lots of cousins, family members and friends.
