Donna Dean Carriger Erickson, 90, of Lenexa, KS, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023 after a battle with severe dementia at Aberdeen Village.
Donna was born on July 20, 1932 to Dale and Alice Carriger of Kansas City, KS. After graduating from Argentine High School, Donna married the love of her life, Walter Eugene Erickson. A wife, a mother, a grandma too, this is her legacy.
She dedicated her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother to Mark (deceased), Susan and John. She made it her mission to fill her home with warmth and kindness. She was an amazing cook, entertainer and kept a spotless home. She welcomed family and friends to their home. We will miss her greatly.
Donna was an exquisite cake decorator, school cook and disability claims analyst. She supported her husband as a Shriner. They traveled all 50 states, 17 different countries and wintered in Florida.
Donna was predeceased by her husband, mother and father. Donna is survived by her children Susan A. Rogers and John Dale Erickson (Janelle) both of Lenexa, KS. She was blessed with grandchildren Amber Andrews, Erika Ward, Jesse Erickson, and Hope Erickson, as well as great grandchildren: George, Gabriel, Harper, Max and Graham. Donna shared a niece with Walter, Peggy Myers.
The family requests that donations be made to Aberdeen Village Education Fund, via Porter’s funeral home, 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, KS, in lieu of flowers. The funeral will be a private ceremony with only close family members present.
