            JoAnn Barrett Jaklevic, 93, Kansas City, KS, died December 9, 2022.   She was born on June 1, 1929 in Kansas City, KS and was a lifetime resident.   She married her high school sweetheart, John in 1952.   She was a housewife and mother of three boys.   She was preceded in death by her husband, John Jaklevic, her parents, Claude and Cecelia Barrett, sister, Elaine (Barrett) Stegman and her brother, Harold Barrett.   JoAnn is survived by her three sons and their wives, John and Nancy, Kansas City, KS, Steve and Debbie, Lenexa, KS and Jim and Julie, Overland Park, KS, eight grandchildren, Kate (Marc), Kevin (Shannan), Daniel, Steve (Stephanie), Dave (Abby), Anne (Ben), Mike and Joanie, thirteen great grandchildren, one sister and her husband, Janice and Jack Neumann, two brothers-in-law and their wives, Bob and Mary Jaklevic, Joe and Janean Jaklevic, a sister-in-law and her husband, Anne and Dave Mullin and numerous nieces and nephews.

            The funeral services will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at Cathedral of St. Peter’s, 416 N. 14th Street, Kansas City, KS.  Rosary will be held at 9:00 a.m. followed by visitation.  Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m.   Entombment in Gate of Heaven Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Cancer Action and Thymic Carcinoma Center.

So sorry to hear I remember how nice she was to everybody on the block had lots of fun on Garfield growing up remember all the nights sitting at the curb talking, playing wiffle ball and hollering at the crazy lady in the apartment across the street.I was at my gmas there alot - Mrs Smith who lived on the corner next door to the Kirwins.
