     Thomas R. Cooley, 80, of Kansas City, KS, passed away Monday, November 21, 2022.  Visitation will be from 5-7:00 PM Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, KS.  Funeral Services will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, November 30, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1086 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS 66112.  In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Sister Servants of Mary.

     Tom was born August 10, 1942, in Kansas City, KS.  He served his country in the United States Army Reserves.  Tom was the City Manager for Bonner Springs, KS, the City Administrator for Edwardsville, KS and County Commisioner for the Unified Government of Wyandotte County/  Kansas City, KS.  Tom was on the Boards for the Wyandotte County United Way, Leadership 2000, Wyandotte County Economic Development Counsel, Wyandotte County Citizen Planning Committee, Edwardsville Kiwanis, Club,Mens Support Group-Sister Servants of Mary, Mid America Regional Council, Heart of America BSA, Bonner Springs Martin L. King Celebration Committee, Kansas Association of City Managers...

He is survived by his wife Charlya, son Christian Cooley, granddaughter Regan, brother Dennis Cooley, sisters Patricia Cooley, Rosemary Shoaf and extended family and friends.

Sorry for the loss. Tom had a good life and he was always a pleasure to be around. The memories are everlasting. Peggy Miller remained by his side through his illness. She provided care and peace to the end. Tom will truly be missed. Our hearts go out to Chris, Reagan, and Tom’s brother and sisters. Rest In Peace.
