Betty passed away on November 17, 2022. She was born at home in Kansas City Missouri, the daughter of Joseph Leslie and Verta Leslie McDermott. After the early passing of her father, her mother worked very hard as a single parent for Betty and her two sisters during a difficult time in this country’s history.
Betty would like to acknowledge two other special people that impacted her life. Her paternal Grandmother Rose Pullen. She not only provided financial assistance but also guided the girls with her sage wisdom.
Betty would also like to recognize Paul McDermott her mother’s second husband. He was a loving and caring man that endeared himself to the family with his humor and giving nature.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband Edmund Thomas Walsh. They were married for seventy-one years.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela Jean Walsh, Son-In-Law, Don Smith, Daughters-In-Law, Susan Walsh, and Robin Walsh and Grandson Josh Walsh.
She is survived by her children Patricia Smith, Edmund T Walsh III, Steven (Amy) Walsh.
Grandchildren, Jacqueline Smith, Jeff Smith (Paula Ryan), Chris (Katherine) Jesmore, Nathan Jesmore, and Zach Walsh.
Great-grandchildren, Amanda Smith, Mason and Ryder Jesmore, Kathleen and Robert Smith.
Betty was grateful to the following people who assisted Ed, enabling her to return home during her final days: Susan Gann, Christie Walsh & Barbara Lykins.
Once again, the compassionate, professional staff of Good Shepherd Hospice-Olathe assisted the Walsh Family in their time of need. In lieu of flowers, we request that you make donations to Good Shepherd Hospice, 1317 Fountain Dr. Olathe, KS. 66061.
