Katherine “Kathy” Legran Thomann (Brewer)
Born April 28, 1941 – Deceased September 5, 2022
Kathy was born in Kansas City, Kansas to John and Barbara Brewer. Kathy grew up in Kansas City, KS where she met the love of her life and husband of 61 years, Jim Thomann. Jim and Kathy married on October 8, 1960 and raised four children. Kathy leaves behind her husband Jim and two sisters Cheryl (Rick) Shook and Lisa (David) Willig. Family meant the world to her including her 4 children, 13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren: Rick (Dianne) Thomann, grandchildren Chris Thomann, Nick Thomann, and Melanie (Cameron) Thomann, and great grandchildren Rylie Allender, Evy Allender, Xander Thomann; Ron (Jeanette) Thomann, grandchildren Abby Thomann, Kelsie Thomann, Jordan (Steve) Cole, Lyndsey (Ryan) Cole, and Madison Cole; Debbie (Tom) Kirchhoff, grandchildren Kevin Kirchhoff and Katie Kirchhoff; and Brian (Jennifer) Thomann, grandchildren Ashley (Josh) Dudley, Shelby Thomann and Michael Thomann, and great grandchildren Charleigh Dudley and Gus Dudley.
Preceded in death by her parents, John and Barbara Brewer; brothers, John Brewer Jr. and Robert (Rocky) Brewer; sister-in-law, Linda Brewer; and Niece, Elisabeth Shook.
Kathy had a strong faith and valued her many friends. She loved being with family and friends to celebrate holidays, playing bridge, going on vacations/camping, and celebrating special occasions. She was not only a wonderful mother and grandmother to her family, but to all of her children’s friends and neighbors. Kathy touched so many lives and will be forever missed.

Thank you for all the sacrifices you made for us, for all of the memories you made sure we had throughout our lives, for building a strong and close family, and for always being there for us and our families. You made a difference in so many lives! We love you and will miss you! Your children, Rick, Ron, Debbie and Brian.
Mom always said she wanted to go at home in her sleep and wearing her pajamas – Nailed it Mom!
A private interment will be held at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Overland Park, Kansas. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 3-4 and a celebration of life ceremony from 4-5 on Monday, September 12, 2022, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 15315 W. 151st Street, Olathe, KS 66062. Memorial contributions may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Kathy’s name.
