Sarah Beth (Pennington) McMeans, of McLouth, KS, crossed into the loving arms of her Creator on August 30, 2022. She was surrounded by family and friends reading scripture and singing hymns of joy and comfort.
She leaves behind her husband of 19 years, Brent, as well as two beautiful children, Reese (12) and Easton (10).
Sarah was born May 13, 1980, in Kansas City, Kansas and attended Christ the King and Morris Elementaries. She graduated from Turner High School in 1998 and from Kansas State University in 2003. Sarah married Brent, her college sweetheart, soon afterward. Sarah worked a few jobs before finding her dream job at the Johnson County Health Department, working there for six years before “retiring” to raise her 2 babies. She loved to read and travel plan. Every vacation was fun but she always made sure the kids were learning too.
She was involved in the group Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPs) through her church and facilitated the evening group for a few years. She absolutely loved being around other mothers of young children, sharing time together and growing together.
Sarah loved her kids more than anything and strove to make their dreams come true.
She is survived by her loving husband Brent, daughter Reese, and son Easton of the home, parents Pat and Curtis Pennington of Kansas City, KS, and sister Stephanie Pennington of Kansas City, KS. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Karen Morerod of Kansas City, KS, father-in-law Chris McMeans, of Coweta, OK, grandparents Roy Lynn and Twylia McMeans of Meeker, OK, sisters-in law Robin Nolan (Tony) of Kansas City, Kansas and Alissa McMeans (Buck) of Dallas, Texas, brothers-in-law Kyle McMeans (Faith), Shawnee, Kansas, Austin McMeans (BK), Dallas, Texas, Isaac Morerod (Morgan) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Nathanael Morerod of Kansas City, Kansas. She also leaves behind her best friend of 30 years Renee (Behrens) Casey, of Kansas City, Kansas, as well as so many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and dearly wonderful friends. There are just too many to list.
A special thank you goes to Dr. Raed Al-Rajabi, Dr. Christian Sinclair, and their teams for their compassion and care during these last 10 years of treatment. Thank you also to Good Shepherd Hospice, who took such good care of Sarah during her final weeks on this earth.
