Anton “Tony” Pfaff, 89, of Overland Park, KS, passed away Monday, August 15, 2022. The visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, August 19, 2022, at St. Mary-St. Anthony Catholic Church, 615 N. 7th St., Kansas City, KS, with a Funeral Mass following at 10 a.m. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to St. Mary-St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Anton was born February 17, 1933 in Yugoslavia. Following World War II, Tony immigrated to Canada. On October 2, 1954, he married his love, Maria Schleimer. Together, in 1958, they moved to be with family in the Kansas City area. Tony was a devoted husband, dedicated father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He was a member of St. Mary-St. Anthony Catholic Church and loved singing in the choir.
Tony was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Franz and Erna Schleimer, brothers-in-law Hans and Ernest Schleimer and dear niece Elizabeth Schleimer. Tony is survived by his daughter, Mary Zeller (Jim); son, Richard Pfaff; grandchildren, Molly Zeller Farwell (Geoff), Katie Zeller (Boris Firquain), Tony Pfaff, Jillian Pfaff; great-grandsons, Dayton Farwell and Bennett Firquain; sister-in-law, Victoria Schleimer; nieces and nephews, Dorothea Ledzian, Mary Schleimer, Frank Schleimer, Hans Schleimer Jr., Harold Schleimer and Linda Cahill and their families. Tony’s family wishes to thank the staff of the Silvercrest Senior Living for their love and care over the past five years.
