Elizabeth R (Murray) Jaimes wife of Frank Jaimes, daughter of Robert James Murray, and Flora (Pearce) Murray passed away Thursday August 11th. Betty (Momo) is survived by her daughter Denise Gillis and her husband Steve, her son Mark Jaimes and his wife Jayne, 5 Grandchildren, Shonna, Jenny, Ben, Lizzy, and Jacque. She also has 6 great grandchildren who she loved and adored.
Betty was born on December 30, 1927 in Framingham, England in the “Castle on the Hill” and grew up during difficult and uncertain times. War took away her father at an early age from the 1st World War; the 2nd brought buzzbombs and rockets that randomly struck the town at any time. It was during this time when she met Frank Jaimes who was a gunner and trainer and a US Sergeant of a B17 Flying Fortress at the Datchet air force base near Framlingham Castle. Betty attended dances with him at the base, once even when the Glen Miller Orchestra performed. They married while in England and when the War ended Betty moved to the United States and as did many brides, came across the Atlantic on the Queen Mary Ocean liner. Betty was the youngest of 8 and has many living relatives in England still.
In the States Betty and Frank moved to the Kansas City Metro Area and she did become a naturalized US Citizen, but was always British. They purchased land and built a home in Kansas City, Ks. and never lived anywhere else. She attended the Stony Point Christian Church when it was the Little White Church on the Hill and it has always been an important part of her life; she would coax her two toddlers to Bible School every week to make sure they had the love of Jesus in their hearts. She loved her church friends and the love they gave her back. The Storehouse is something she was most proud of because there was no doubt feeding the hungry was doing good for those who needed it the most.
Her husband was called up long ago. Now she can be with him and her other loved ones who left this world too soon. She is loved by many and many have her love in their hearts forever.
