Hala was born on May 19, 1969, in Cairo, Egypt. Growing up in Mansoura, Egypt, she attended The Sainte Famille school of Primary Education. Afterwards, she attended Mansoura University followed by the American University of Cairo. She was able to foster her love of service through working as secretary in a variety of settings up until 2005. Through the help of her beloved uncle, Kamal Mikhail, she was able to immigrate to The United States, where she began her endeavor working as a sales associate at Dillards, and later worked at Macy’s where her steadfast kindness and humility was felt by all. Her devotion to service was evident as she went on to become exceptional in her work. Hala dedicated much of her life to the care of her mother, Laila Salib, whom she cherished dearly. She was loved exceedingly by her nephews and niece, whom she treated as her own.
She was preceded in death by her father, Karam Fanous. She is survived by her mother Laila Salib; brothers Hany Fanous husband to Nancy Mikhaeel and Sherif Fanous husband to Naglaa Ibrahim. She is also survived by her nephews Stephen, Timothy, and Amir Fanous and her niece Carla Fanous.
Funeral services will be held at Saint Mary & Saint Mark Coptic Orthodox Church of Kansas City on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 12 PM. The burial will follow the service at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of sending flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution to St. Mary and St. Mark Coptic Orthodox Church of Kansas City.
