Our sweet grandfather Robert Holloway recently passed.  He will be buried  at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery, 5201 South Southwood, Springfield, MO at 2pm on Friday, June 24, 2022.

Robert Philip Holloway, 99, Overland Park, Ks, passed away Monday, June 13, 2022. He was born April 12, 1923 in Strafford, MO, the son of Rev. Robert and Ella (Aldridge) Holloway. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church in Overland Park, Ks. He served with the U.S. Army in Europe during World War ll as Sgt in the 84th Infantry Division. He was in 3 campaigns: Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe including the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of American Legion Post 370, and VFW Post 846. He had been a member of the Downtown Kiwanis Club of KC and was its pianist for 25 years. He was a pianist for several different churches and particularly enjoyed playing organ/piano duets. 

He was president of Alaska Auditors Association while living in Alaska. 

He was the most patient person.  He spent endless hours entertaining his grandchildren playing games, teaching them cards and how to play the piano.  He was an extraordinary kind person who enjoyed socializing.  He never complained.  He was a true gentleman.  He will be greatly missed. 

Phil was preceded in death by his wife Carmelita, his daughter Patricia Ann Kennedy and his parents. He is survived by his granddaughter, Stacie Clifford, 3 grandsons: Robert Perkins,  Joseph Patrick Perkins and Michael Perkins. He is also survived by a niece Ramona Andrews, and nephews Gary Andrews and Larry Andrews, 7 great grandchildren, 3 great-great granddaughters and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
