Jul 31, 1950---Jun 11, 2022

Robert "Bob" Sachen, 71, of Parkville, MO, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022.

Bob was born July 31, 1950 in Kansas City, KS, to Joseph and Lena (Casper) Sachen. Bob is survived by his wife Gloria (Massing) and beloved dog Wyatt; two nephews Joe and Dan Sachen and families; sister-in-law Sophia Sachen; sister-in-law Donna Massing; brother-in-law Ted Massing; nephews Andrew Massing and Sawyer Massing; niece Sierra Massing-Valverde and countless cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother William "Bill" Sachen.  He was blessed to have a wonderful large family.

Bob was a graduate of Wyandotte high school in 1968.

Bob was born with a heart to help others and he used his God given skills to fix and repair mechanical things, always willing to assist those in need. In high school he worked at a Phillips 66 gas service station, repairing and fixing cars.

A major portion of his career was at Trans World Airlines (TWA). There in 1979, Bob met the love of his life, “Gloria Massing” where she worked in the ticket stock department and he in printing services.

Bob and Gloria were married at First Assembly of God in Kansas City, Kansas on September 19, 1981. Bob and Gloria enjoyed one another’s company and had just celebrated forty years of marriage.

Their time together was filled with constant laughter and many vacations including visiting Europe, Hawaii, Graceland, Florida, Branson and countless fun camping memories at the lake when Bob owned his boat.

Bob also worked at Bear’s Printing and was currently employed at Kansas City Life Insurance Co.

Bob’s hobbies included collecting Elvis Presley memorabilia/photos and he liked John Wayne too. He had a love for watching westerns and cowboy movies and he also enjoyed “007” James Bond.

Bob recently purchased his beloved “dream car” a 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air which was similar to the one he drove when he was in high school. Bob loved owning the car that reminded him of his youth and he showed his prized car at several “car shows” in the past few months.

Bob was blessed to have so many family members who loved him and cherished the great times that they had with him including holiday cook outs and birthday celebrations.

Bob loved the Lord and enjoyed serving and helping others throughout his life.

He will be greatly missed by all.

A celebration of life cermony will be held Friday, June 17, 2022 with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia Street, Lenexa, KS. Bob was a great guy. I caught him every day cleaning up the coffee area so we would not get cooties. He always had a great attitude and took great care of Gloria. We will all miss him at Kansas City Life.

Bob was an extraordinary human being. Excellent craftsman, always helpful, cheerful and as much a friend as a co-worker. I, and we, miss him and his wonderful perspective on life and pursuit of happiness. There aren't enough people on earth like him. I'm so lucky to have known him.
