Patricia L. Bell, 82, of Lenexa, KS died Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Prairie Elder Care in Overland Park, KS. Graveside services will be held May 10, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. at the Leavenworth National Cemetery, 150 Muncie Rd., Leavenworth, KS.

Patricia was born on May 2, 1940, in Kanas City, KS, and grew up under the love and care of her extended family in a house built by her grandfather. She graduated from Wyandotte High School as part of the class of 1958. During her youth she spent much of her free time playing the steel guitar in a band which performed locally, and as far away as Topeka, KS.

Patricia began adulthood working at Kansas City Life Insurance, where she remained employed until after she met and married her one true love. She and Roger E. Bell were wed on June 11, 1961, at Old Mission United Methodist Church, beginning a partnership filled with love and devotion that would last the rest of their lives and beyond. She followed Roger to Rapid City, South Dakota as he completed the remainder of his service in the United States Air Force. They returned to the Kansas City are after his enlistment ended to raise their family and remained lifelong Kansas City residents.

Patricia graduated from Johnson County Community College with an Associates of Arts in May of 1984; she was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. After graduating she joined Shawnee Mission Public Schools as an interpreter for the hearing impaired where for over 20 years she touched the lives of students and co-workers with her skill as an interpreter and commitment to providing all students access to an exceptional education.

Patricia was a devout Christian, who was dedicated to providing the best for her family as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She strove to be a woman of excellence, blessing her loved ones with a warm, safe, welcoming home filed with love. Patricia is proceeded in death by her loving husband, Dr. Roger E. Bell. She is survived by her son and his wife, Michael and Deanna Bell; her daughter Michelle Bell; her grandchildren Brittany Ferm, Maci Stocksen, Bry and Katelynn Stocksen; and her great-grandchildren Laila Rodriquez, Gannon Stocksen and Dean Stocksen.
