Paul S. Doleshal, Sr., 73, died on January 21, 2022 at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. He was surrounded by his children and loved ones.
Paul was born on January 7, 1949 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of John Doleshal and Catherine (Wilt) Doleshal. He was raised in their family home on 53rd Street, along with his sister, Nita, and eight brothers, Mike, Dennis, Dave, John, Bob, Pat, Jimmy and Tommy. Paul attended Christ the King, where he was an alter boy, and graduated from Washington High School in 1968. After graduating, he became a carpenter’s apprentice and began his long career as a carpenter and general contractor.
Paul married his high school sweetheart, Susan, and togetherthey raised two sons: Paul Doleshal, Jr., and Jake Doleshal. Paul later married Sherry Doleshal and together they raised two beautiful daughters: Katie (Doleshal) Richmond and Stephanie Doleshal.
Paul built many beautiful homes around the Kansas City area, often for friends and family. He was generous with his time, and for decades lent his construction skills out to many who were need of his aid. Paul’s quick wit and kind nature brought joy to so many people and he will be missed by all. Paul loved his family, friends, springtime, beautiful houses and cool cars. Paul’s passing calls to mind the laughter and love he left behind.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brother, Dave Doleshal. He is survived by his sons, Paul, Jr., of Double Oak, Texas, his son Jake, of Kansas City, Missouri, his daughter Katie, of Olathe, Kansas, and his daughter Stephanie, of Kansas City, Kansas. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Christy Doleshal, his daughter-in-law Eva Doleshal, his son-in-law Ryan Richmond, and his grandchildren, Ben and Amelia Doleshal, and Anna and Marcus Richmond.
A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, January 29, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, 3024 N. 53rd Street, Kansas City, Kansas, to be followed by a Mass at 11:00 a.m.Those who wish to remember Paul in a special way can make contributions in his memory to the Greater Kansas City Squirrel Sanctuary and Habitat (wink) or better yet, Children’s Mercy (donations at: childrensmercy.org/ways-to-give/).
