Pat loved to share his enthusiasm for Star Wars, Sci-Fi, movies, music (except for rap and country).  Pat loved to cheer for Kansas City Royals, Chiefs, Sporting KC, Kansas Jayhawks, and even Kansas State Wildcats (as long as they weren’t playing KU).  He enjoyed spending his free time playing games with family and friends (except for Liverpool).  Pat loved to test his knowledge of trivia and looked forward to his annual Trivia night and being a Bingo caller at Holy Trinity.  Pat enjoyed for many years fishing in Canada with family and friends.  One of his biggest achievements was visiting and hiking in all 50 states.  He often talked about his trip to Alaska and being able to see the summit of Denali.  Pat love to show his creativity by designing and carving watermelons baskets for special occasions.

Pat was a son, brother, uncle, Godfather and confirmation sponsor to so many.  Pat had a special relationship with his friend’s son Leo and honorary brother David Bobbitt is a long-time friend from college and current roommate.  His main purpose in life was to educate us on the ways of Pat Gamber.  He found his calling as an educator and leaving his lasting impression on students and colleagues.  The strength of his faith gives us comfort during this difficult time.

What a gift Mr. Gamber was to our community. Our daughter was blessed to be in his last fourth grade class. She loved her time in his class, learned about her faith, and developed a relationship with Christ due to his influence. He was Christ on earth to our students. May he rest in the loving arms of Christ. We were fortunate to have him in our lives.

Friend and Chosen Brother ,Lawrence ,Kansas

Pat was a friend of mine for over thirty years, we first met when I was 16 and he was there my first day of college at KU, we were roommates for years during school and after, he stood beside me at my wedding as well. I shared time with him and his wonderful family for many years and felt as much a part of their lives as I did for my own. Pat was the kind of person that not only befriended you but supported you when you didn't know you needed it, his love of teaching extended to being a consummate mentor and I wouldn't be a fraction of the person I am without having the honor of calling him friend and brother. I will miss him dearly.

Our son Sean absolutely adored Mr. Gamber and loved having him as a social studies teacher. His sense of humor, kind heart, and genuineness shone through to not only his students but to everyone he came in contact with. Our hearts are heavy with the loss of this wonderful man and we send loving prayers to his family and friends.

I pray for everyone who misses Pat so much and for his joy in heaven. May he rest in peace. I remember him fondly for many reasons from my time teaching at HT—including his dislike of chocolate, leaving more for the rest of us. Calm, funny and dedicated. He will be missed.

We at Holy Trinity lost a good Shepherd, a tremendous educator and administrator. Mr. Gamber was a role model for young and old, true to his faith, kind to all. You know how much one is loved in this world by how many will miss him. He was our rock, he was our friend, and most importantly our Shepherd. Rest In Peace Mr. Gamber - you are truly a faithful servant - job well done young man. We will forever miss you, but you will never be forgotten.

I am so sorry for your pain over the tragic loss of Pat. He spoke of his family often and with the greatest love. I worked with Pat for many years and he was an exceptionally kind, gracious and witty Catholic man. I recently shared my memories of Pat with my students in STL. They know that when my HTS students were behaviorally challenged during Mass, I told them to look to Mr. Gamber to see how to behave. Pat always found the time and patience to help any HTS student needing guidance. He was a fantastic colleague. Pat’s emails were so funny that I often ended up laughing loudly in my classroom. He was reliable and happily helped judge our Mathletic competitions. He consistently agreed to, “Get his math on”, for the students. Serving as a Eucharistic minister at All School Masses, Pat never failed to assist other teachers and offered to carry hosts to the altar. He had the heart of a true servant and his manners were a great example to every student at Mass. My students and I will continue to pray for the Gamber family and the entire HTS community. May Pat’s beautiful soul rest in peace until we are reunited in heaven.

Mr Gamber was my 4th grade teacher. He knew exactly how to make his lessons entertaining and how to keep the kids focused on the lesson because of his charisma and all round love of his job. But he wasn’t just a teacher to me he was a friend. I had countless conversations with him regarding things like comic books, videos games and the chiefs and royals. He made an impact on my life that I will carry with me for the rest of my life and I am unbelievably blessed to have known him. I have nothing but positive memories to look back on and I am forever grateful for it. Rest In Peace Mr. Gamber thank you for everything you’ve done

We had the luck of Mr. Gamber being our son’s 4th grade teacher. He was engaging, fun and taught Jack much. Later, Jack asked Mr. Gamber to be his confirmation sponsor which cemented their friendship. Mr. Gamber, thank you for always loving our children and teaching them not only academically but also how to be a great human! You will be deeply missed within our HT community.
