Jan 19, 1958---Dec 14, 2021

Karen Hipp, age 63, of Wichita, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. Karen was born January 19, 1958 to Julius T. and Catherine Hipp.

Karen is survived by brother Ron Hipp (Barbara) (Overland Park), sister Judy Marstall (John) (Wichita), brother Kenneth Hipp (Peggy) (Wichita), 12 nieces and nephews and numerous great-nieces and nephews and a large extended family and many good friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents and brother Alan Hipp.

Karen was a devoted catholic and attended St. Joseph Catholic School, Bishop Carroll High School and graduated from Newman University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. She was a dedicated nurse for Via Christi before moving to Hawaii and serving as a civilian nurse for the Armed Forces. She was working for the VA in Kansas City at the time of her death.

Karen was an avid sports fan. She was staunchly loyal to the Wichita State Shockers, Las Vegas Raiders and Minnesota Vikings. Karen loved greeting cards; both giving and receiving. She never missed a chance to have a good laugh at the expense of her loved ones getting older. But mostly, Karen loved her cats, who will miss her dearly.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wichita, KS. These services will be livestreamed through Facebook at St. Joseph Catholic Parish.

Dear Karen, I will miss our long breakfasts and talks. Glad our last one was just recently. Greatest memories would be our serving on "that committee!" We were so bad we were good !! That was the beginning of our adult friendship, though I have known you all your life. Fly high with angel wings. Love you

Karen was a great friend to me when my daughter was hospitalized in the pediatric intensive care unit. A familiar face with a kind heart and calm voice in a very serious situation. She gave us hope and confidence to handle our daughter’s illness! Thank you Karen. Rest In Peace! Prayers for the family and many friends she has.

How saddened I am to learn of Karen’s departure from this world, however what joy I know in my heart as I know she is a believer and I will rejoice at seeing her in our Lord’s heaven.
