Oren L. Hamlett, 92, of Tonganoxie, KS. passed away on November 23, 2021.  He was born January 8, 1929, in Kansas City, MO to Oren A. and Eva A. (Lewis) Hamlett.  He married JoAnn L. Bobst on November 10, 1956 and lived in Kansas City, KS until moving to Tonganoxie, KS in 2002.  Before his working career, he served his country in the United States Army.  Oren was employed at Caterpillar for 30 years, a member of the Local Union #71, and a past Union Representative, retiring in 1994.  Oren had a couple of nicknames "Sonny" (given by his family while he was growing up) and "Curly" (given by his coworkers at Caterpillar, because of his lack of hair).  

He was preceded in death by his wife JoAnn Hamlett, children T.N. "Whitey" White, Catherine Sue White Bruce, grandchildren Jean Ann White, Jeremiah Bruce, brother Paul Hamlett, and his sister Bonnie Edgington.  Oren is survived by his daughter Lori and Tim Sanders, daughter-in-law Judy Alexander White, four grandchildren Jill White Elbert, Cherish Bruce Thomas, Zebulon Sanders and Zachary Sanders, brother Glenn Hamlett, sisters Wanda Hamlett, Donna Maul, ten great grandchildren Alex, Samantha, Maxine, Katelyn, Sierra, Zoey, Lillian, William, Emma and Amelia,  three great great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
