Ethan Michael Schuster, age 14, of Olathe, KS, died Tuesday, October 5, 2021. Visitation will be from 1:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday, October 10th at the Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia Street, Lenexa, KS. Funeral Mass will be 10:00am Monday, October 11th, at the Church of the Ascension, 9510 W. 127th St. Overland Park, KS. A Memorial Mass will be 11:00 AM Saturday, October 16, 2021 at St Augustine Catholic Church, 410 B Street, Washington, KS. Ethan was born in Olathe, Kansas to JJ and Anna (Boden) Schuster on January 17, 2007. He was the beloved brother of Evan, Emma, Elizabeth and Elliott. He had a smile that lit up the room and gave the best “Ethan hugs”. Ethan was often quiet and thoughtful but had a snarky sense of humor and a wealth of information to share. He had a deep love for his family and friends.
Ethan spent many hours tinkering, including building with Legos and various assembly kits, working on his computer or designing a new metalsmithing project. He enjoyed playing video and computer games as well as having a passion for photography. Ethan liked to create amazing pencil drawings, whether he worked on them for hours, or created them on the spot for a last-minute project.
He was a Freshman at Olathe East High School and was on the honor roll. Ethan was an active member of Country Hearts 4-H Club where he has served various club offices, volunteered with Modern Woodman of America youth service club, attended Church of the Ascension, and achieved a 2nd degree black-belt from Tiger Rock Martial Arts.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Boden and uncle, Benjamin Roop.
Ethan is survived by his parents, JJ & Anna Schuster of Olathe; siblings, Evan, Emma, Elizabeth and Elliott; grandparents, Lucille Boden of Beloit, Merry & Calvin “Junior” Roop of Washington, and David & Micki Schuster of Santa Fe, NM; aunt, Sara Roop; uncles, Rich (Damiana) Boden, John (Kari) Boden, Micah (Coral) Schuster, Aaron (Nikki) Schuster; cousins, Michele Boden-Honomichl, Gunner, Conner, Ryan Boden, and Cameron Schuster, and a plethora of extended family members and friends.
