Anthony (Tony) Alex Fink, of Overland Park, Kansas, passed away on September 12th peacefully at home with his family at his side.  Tony was born on May 15, 1933, to Alex and Katherine Fink in Eden Valley, Minnesota.  He graduated from Eden Valley High School in 1951, where he played football, basketball, baseball and was a member of the track and field team.  

He then joined the army, where he was awarded the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service medal and earned the marksmanship badge.  Following his service, he attended St. Cloud State in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

 In 1957, he met Mary Lodermeier. They were married in 1958 and had 5 children: Mary, Laurie, Julie, Paula, and Mike. Tony worked in the dairy and agricultural industries throughout his professional career. He provided for his family and made sure they had everything they needed. He loved his wife and was very proud of his family. Tony was an avid sports fan, especially the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. He also enjoyed coaching basketball and baseball. Tony was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus for 64 years, where he was a Fourth Degree Knight.  He actively volunteered at the Villa of St. Joseph’s for twelve years and was a “Youth Friend” for the Blue Valley school district for many years.

Anyone who knew Tony, knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. He is survived by his wife, Mary, his children, Mary Fink of Kansas City, Laurie Hannan (Mark) of Ben Wheeler, Texas, Julie Rome (Mike) of Oak Hill, VA, Paula Vovk of Cincinnati, OH, and Mike Fink of Kansas City, His grandchildren Sam & Erica (Julie),  Joshua & David (Paula) Hannah and James(Mike), great-granddaughter Sophie (Hannah) and brother John Fink.

There will be a funeral mass at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15 at Ascension Catholic Church at, 9510 W 127th St, Overland Park, KS 66213.  The Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 8300 Quivira Rd.
