Jeff and I met in 1997 when I went to work for ERC. I joined the Monday night golf league in order to get to know folks. After they learned they could get me to buy beers I was invited to join the Saturday group in which Jeff was a leading figure. The stories and fun memories I have from those Mondays and Saturdays are too many to repeat here. Suffice it to say that when I think of Jeff and those times it brings a smile to my face. My condolences to Karen and his family.

Jeff was a business acquaintance I met in 1991, and with 500 miles separating us, we became great friends. I must have golfed 250 rounds with him and the many other great Kansas City friends he introduced me to. He was kind, gentle, forgiving, understanding and tolerant. I am very sorry that the world has lost this man, and I offer my most sincere condolences to his family.

Karen and family, So sorry for your loss. Jeff was truly one of the good ones and will be greatly missed. He and I shared a love of the Packers. He always brought me Wisconsin papers when he visited his folks. Go Pack Go! Also, I think he and I were the last to continue to believe in paper and not electronic data. Data won, but Jeff always fought the good fight. Please know he is at peace and no longer suffering. May your memories comfort you at this difficult times. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you.

He was the most inspirational and courageous man I ever met. His love of life and refusal to give in to adversity were breathtaking. I am so sorry for your loss.

Karen and family - I am so sorry for your loss. Since I learned of Jeff's passing, the memories have come flooding back. The cheeseburger Thursday's at Maloneys, the golf trips to Arizona, the retirement happy hour in the River Market, and just the everyday conversations in the office. Jeff will be truly missed by so many.

Karen, my deepest sympathies. My husband Ron worked for Jeff and had such respect for him. He followed Jeff's posts on Caring Bridge and was always encouraged by how Jeff could maintain a positive outlook and found inspiration as his own health was failing. You and his family are in my thoughts and prayers.

My deepest condolences to Karen and Jeff's family. Jeff and I met in 1981 and our friendship continued for 40 years. Jeff was one of the original "Scottsdale Boys" and every May, we enjoyed golf, desert dry heat and a few beers. I am sure that when the "Boys" get together again, Jeff stories will be told with much laughter and many tears. We were also fantasy football partners and fought like cats over the draft for our team: The Choo - Choo. Despite my protests, Jeff was always Choo #1 and I was Choo #2 - go figure! Jeff was a gentle and generous soul. I will miss him greatly. Rest easy my friend.

My condolences to Jeff’s family. I worked with Jeff for many years at ERC/Swiss Re. I was on the underwriting side and Jeff handled our most complex/difficult claims. I respected him for his knowledge and experience but most of all he was such a nice guy. I never hesitated to call him if I had a question and he was always happy to share his expertise. RIP Jeff!

Karen, Bryan and Kelsey, I worked with your husband and father for over 25 years and feel lucky to have called him a friend. I met him when we were both still in practice and was glad to see another friendly face when I joined ERC. I'm glad I got to play golf with him and enjoy his company. He is already missed.

Karen and family, please accept my condolences. Jeff handled the complex claims for the business unit I worked in. He was very knowledgeable and would always take the time to provide the information we needed. I used to joke with him that our underwriting decisions provided him with job security. Jeff was a super friendly guy to be around. Please try to find comfort and peace by remembering the good times you had with him.

Karen and family - I've known Jeff since the ERC days, Jeff and I were Fantasy Football opponents & golf partners in the ERC/Swiss Re golf league for a number of years. Always enjoyed playing with him, had a great time at the 19th hole with him after numerous rounds. Hope that he's sitting around up in Heaven now, chatting away, snacks available as he's having a cold brew, enjoying the view.... my heartfelt condolences, he will be missed by all that had the good fortune to have known him.

Friend/Co-worker ERC/SwissRe ,Olathe ,Kansas

Karen and family, please accept my sincere condolences. I met Jeff when he took a job at ERC. He had a great sense of humor and was helpful and kind. My favorite Lauersdorf story was at the ERC golf tourney finale, we had a “fun night” team event at Sunflower Hills where there were “contests” on various holes. Jeff and I were in the same group. One hole was “longest drive with a putter.” Jeff took a full swing with his putter on the tee box and hit the ball hard. The head of his putter came flying off and landed farther than the golf ball in the fairway. We all laughed until we cried; no one more than Jeff himself. He was a good man with a great attitude and many friends. I am sorry for your loss.
