Roberta "Bobbie" (Pursley) Sixta, 81 passed away on July 30, 2021 in Olathe, KS. She was born September 10, 1939 in Kansas City, KS. Bobbie graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1957 and wed John "Jack" Sixta on April 12, 1958. Their union produced five children, seventeen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was a devoted grandmother who loved to spend time with her grandchildren and an outgoing person who never knew a stranger. She made friends wherever she went. Bobbie was a parishioner at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Kansas City, KS. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Circle and was involved with Jack in helping the men's Green Club with their fundraisers. Bobbie and Jack spent many hours together with their friends volunteering and serving the parish community. Bobbie and Jack were traveling enthusiasts and spent many summers vacationing all over the United States, the southwest was a particularly favorite destination for them. Bobbie loved photography and decorated her home with many of the photos they took while on their travels. Bobbie was a gourmet cook who enjoyed sharing her passion for cooking with family and friends. Povitica was one of her favorite bake goods. She was also a lifelong seamstress and crafter who enjoyed making Christmas decorations for her family and friends. Bobbie is survived by her husband Jack; daughter, Joan (Sixta) Henderson; son, John Sixta; son, Thomas Sixta; daughter, Theresa (Sixta) Zawacki and son-in-law Carl Zawacki; son, Joseph Sixta and daughter-in-law Jenny (Thorne) Sixta; seventeen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
The Visitation will be at 10 a.m. with the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Monday, August 9 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1086 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS. A luncheon will follow in the Parish Center. Burial will be at the National Cemetery, Leavenworth, KS. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Patrick Catholic Church.
