Bertha "Gretchen" Myers, 88, Lee's Summit, MO, died Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at John Knox Village.  A Rosary will be prayed at 5:30 PM followed by a visitation till 7:30 PM at the Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia Street, Lenexa, KS, on Thursday May 6th. The Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 7, at Cure of Ars Catholic Church, 9405 Mission Rd. Leawood, KS. Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 5001 NE Cookingham Dr. Kansas City, MO.  Memorial contributions may be made to: Little Sisters of the Poor or to Redemptorist Catholic Church.

Gretchen was born January 11, 1933, in Des Moines, IA, the daughter of Russell and Mildred Barr.  She worked as a RN for over 35 years before retiring.  Gretchen belonged to the Association Jeanne Jugan, was a member of Lady of the Presentation and volunteered at the Little Sisters of the Poor since 2007.

     Gretchen was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Myers, and her brother, Robert G. Barr.  She is survived by her daughter, Joni Esteban, grandchildren, David and Amy Esteban, sister in law, Margaret Barr, nephews, Robert (Lynda) Barr, Patrick Barr, niece, Donna (Harvey) Helprin.
