Shirley was born July 24, 1933 in Wichita KS, the daughter of Clinton and Marguerite Swan. She grew up with her sister, Kay and brother, Paul in Wichita and Junction City, KS. Shirley finished her working career in the Admissions department at Johnson County Community College.
Shirley and Don took many trips all over the world over the years, but her favorite place was enjoying the flowers, birds, and maybe a martini if it was Friday night on the back patio with her husband and best friend, Don.
She was a diehard KU and Chiefs fan and was thrilled when the Chiefs won the Superbowl this year. Her dogs, Buster, who passed in 2018, and Danny Boy were her babies, and she also really enjoyed Elvis and Thomas Kinkade paintings.
Shirley loved to cook and entertain, holidays and birthdays were a big deal, she loved getting the whole family together any chance she could get. Her kids, grandkids, and great grandkids meant the world to her and she would have done anything for any of them.
