Patrick J. Cullinan “Packy” passed away on April 18, 2018. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, April 21st at Holy Spirit Church- 11300 W 103rd St, Overland Park, KS 66214. A visitation will be held at the church the morning of the funeral beginning at 8:30 a.m. with the funeral following at 10:00 a.m. Internment is immediately following at Resurrection Cemetery-8321 Quivira Road Lenexa, KS. Pat was born in Chicago on March 26, 1931 to Kathleen (Sullivan) and Daniel Cullinan. Kathleen was the daughter of Patrick Sullivan, US Senator from Wyoming (in the 1930s). Pat was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Elizabeth, a brother, Dan and a sister, Honora. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mariwin, his brother Tom (Marilyn) and his sister in law, Marianne. He is also survived by his sons, Pat Jr. (Jean), Mike (Kit), Dan (Janet) and daughter Katherine (Dusky), ten grandchildren and six great grand children. Pat graduated from John Carroll University and served in the army in Virginia and Korea. In 1955, he joined Hallmark Cards in their marketing division and spent 37 years with the company in Chicago, Cincinnati and Kansas City. In 2007, he was elected to the Loyola Academy (Chicago) basketball Hall of Fame. He tried to persuade his golfing buddies the award was actually for golf…but they knew better!
