Sep 19, 1946---Jan 16, 2025

Stephen was born September 19, 1946, to Michael and Olga (DeGennaro) Ruvolo in Brooklyn, New York.  We lost Steve on January 16, 2025

As a young man, Stephen enjoyed model trains and CB radios.  He graduated from West Islip High School in West Islip, NY and went on to earn his degree from Carnegie Mellon University in 1969.  Afterward, he worked as an Industrial Engineer at Jones & Laughlin Steel Mill in Pittsburgh, PA.  Steve returned to Long Island, NY, to join his family business, Tasty Frozen Products where he would eventually become President/CEO.

On November 24, 1973, Steve married Patty Perrucci at St. Sylvester’s Church in Pittsburgh PA.  They lived in Commack NY for 10 years.  They had two wonderful children, Tracy and Paul.  In 1983, the family moved to Lenexa KS to expand Tasty Frozen Products.

After retiring, Steve found a new passion in Information Technology, working for the City of Lenexa, KS.  He also concentrated on his hobby of Bass fishing, spending more time at Lake of the Ozarks and on trips to Canada.  Steve enjoyed traveling with his family, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Steve was loved by his family and his absence will be felt by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Patty; children, Tracy and Paul; brother, Thomas (Celenia); sisters- in-law; Mary Turner (Larry) and Linda Ray (Tim); nephew, nieces, 2 great nephews and many friends.

Private family services were held.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Steve’s memory to  Tunnel 2 Towers, Kansas City Hospice House, or St. Thomas Aquinas High School.

Patty, Paul, & Tracy: Soooo sad at Steve's passing and so sorry there was pain at the end. He was a wonderful, always-cheerful and helpful friend. The many memories we had from Pittsburgh (Carnegie Tech, Darragh Street), then later in Lenexa, your lakehouse, and our lakehouse. They will be with us the rest of our lives. Truly, for Steve, a life well-lived and fully enjoyed. We will miss him! Mary & Brent Sisler

Steve will be missed! I believe the first time we met Steve was his involvement with the Holy Trinity boy scout group. We did get to know Steve a lot better after he joined our Monday Night Football Group in Country Hill. He did unofficially act as our Secretary since he joined the Club. Steve showed a strong and positive attitude throughout his cancer treatments. His honest and caring attitude toward everyone made him very easy to like and respect. Our hearts go out to Patty and the kids. And may Steve rest in peace!!!

I am saddened at the news of Steve's passing. Over the past 20 years since my retirement, I would run into Steve around town infrequently, and Patty was usually there also. Each encounter felt like no time had passed. At the "Friends and Family" opening of the new Justice Center and Police Headquarters a few months ago, Steve and I were able to spend a fair amount of time answering the retiree's number one question, "what have you been up to?" Steve will always remain a fond recollection as the most enthusiastic and helpful civilian specialist. His infectious "can do" attitude helped the entire organization work better, feel better and be better.
