Stephen Aloysius Imm passed away peacefully on August 13, 2025, surrounded by many loved ones after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.
Steve was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on April 21, 1938 to Edward Richard Imm and Thelma Louise “Thelma Lou” (Mauntel) Imm. Steve and his identical twin Edward were the first of seven children born to Edward and Thelma Lou.
Steve served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958 before attending the University of Dayton and Xavier University. He received his MBA from Xavier and had a successful career in the paper industry.
In 1961 he married Judy Wimmers and they started their family shortly after. Steve and Judy had four children, one son and three daughters. Steve worked hard his entire life in order to provide a good life for his family. He moved his family to various states over the years, but always made sure to return home to Cincinnati often so his children would know their grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Steve became a grandfather in 1990 when the first of his seven grandchildren was born. He loved taking his grandchildren to Mass on Saturday mornings and then to a nearby McDonalds to meet up with his friends. He was so proud of all of his grandchildren, and was fortunate to become a great-grandfather to a beautiful baby girl, Stevie Jo, just before Christmas of last year.
In 2001 Steve married Lois McKinney and was blessed with getting to know her children and grandchildren. Steve and Lois spent the next 24 years enjoying traveling, attending Mass together, singing in various Good Shepherd Choirs, supporting vocations in the Archdiocese, and spending time with their large blended family. He remained devoted to God and his family throughout his life, and will be fondly remembered forever by his family and many friends.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother Ed Imm and his younger brother Albert Imm. He is survived by his dear wife Lois, his sisters Mary LaBelle (Pierre), Janet Cox (Gene “Tiny” Cox), Elaine Gatto (Robert, deceased), his brother Danny Imm, his four much beloved children, Stephen Imm (Kathryn), Michelle Tyler (Michael “Toby”), Maria Imm (Tom), and Lisa Lambert (Jeff), 18 nieces and nephews, seven grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.
On Friday August 22, 2025 a Rosary for Steve will be prayed at 9:30 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 12800 W. 75th Street in Shawnee, KS with a visitation to follow. After the visitation, a Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM, followed by burial at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catholic Community Hospice in Overland Park or to the Good Shepherd School Guardian Angel Fund.
