Feb 16, 1985---May 14, 2024

Shane Aaron White, 39, was born in Joplin, Missouri, and passed away in a kayaking incident on Nestlake in Minnesota, May 14, 2024.

Shane was born on February 16, 1985 to parents Kimber Lee (Yeamans) White and Donald Gene White. Shane was the eldest of 3 siblings, Josh White, Hannah White and Heather White, whom he loved and cherished dearly. Shane was taught at home by his parents until his high school years,  and went on to attend Blue Valley West High school. During Shane’s attendance at Blue Valley West, he found a love for football, fun times with friends, and explored his love for music. Shane later graduated Blue Valley West High school, and went on to live in on the big island in Hawaii for a couple years, where he assisted his uncle with building houses, making adventurous memories and taking in the Hawaii sun.

Shane always had a deep love and admiration for music. Even becoming a guitarist in beloved band, Full Moon Riot. Where they put on astounding performances for local venues. He later produced his own alternative music that truly brought him joy and he wanted to share with the world.

Shane was a man of enormous craft. He went on to join a (4) year trade school program with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). Where he assisted the brotherhood with restoring power all across the nation. Including assisting in the most catastrophic disasters. Shane took his work as a craft, and was serious about the care and safety of his brothers. Shane often shared stories of the fun times and memories he made “on the road” and the friendships he made while being a part of the brotherhood. Shane often advocated for the better treatment of his brothers and the change he wanted to see and make happen for the betterment and stability of the lives and families of the brotherhood.

Shane leaves behind, wife, Kim White, and 3 children, Lily, (13) Jacob (10) and Jaylin (13). Lily and Jacob from his previous marriage to Sharon Killian, and stepdaughter, Jaylin aged 13 from current wife, Kim White.

Shane brought warmth and joy to the family and friends he loved, and was a tremendous light to all those around him. He had the kindest heart and was just a good time to all those who knew him. He was a man of God that loved his family, his friends, his country and a can of Busch Light.

Services will be held at Journey Church International, 1601 MO-150, Lee’s Summit, MO 64082, on May 25, 2024, 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 visitation and with services beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Pleasanton, Kansas in Yeaman’s Cemetery. I have never met Shane personally, but I feel like I knew him. The happiness, joy and positive spirit I saw in your Facebook photos was a reflection of how he made you feel. My heart breaks for you and your family. It's a great loss. We may never know why God took him so early into his arms, but may you find strength, comfort and peace in those precious memories that you all shared together. And knowing that...yes, he is with our Lord and Savior now. God Bless you and your family.

When I met Shane I was drinking myself to death and hanging on by a thread. At the time, I was used to pushing people away and keeping myself isolated. I love Shane because Shane loved me first. I couldn’t understand why he wanted to hang out with me when he invited me to go curling here in Kansas City. I didn’t even know what curling was and didn’t know why Shane wanted to spend time with me but we had an awesome time fumbling around on the ice and getting to know each other and the sport of curling. I sure wish I could live that day again. Some years later, Jesus reached out and saved me from myself, forgave my sin and changed my heart. I told Shane about my new found hope and freedom, and He already knew Jesus! He had also been on a path of seeking the truth and finding peace with God through faith in Jesus Christ. The Bible says, “teach us to number our days.” This prayer is so that we may realize just how short our time on this earth really is. Enjoy the moment, embrace love and forgiveness, be thankful and call on Jesus. He died for the sins of the world and was raised from the dead to offer eternal, everlasting life to all who come to Him with childlike faith and understand their need for a Savior. God sent His Son to save sinners and rescue us from our mess and from the wrath to come. We have all sinned, we are separated from God and we all need grace. The gift is free, believe and receive and you will be made right with God, Jesus paid the price for our sin and He is alive to redeem us! Grace and peace and hope, I miss you Shane and I love you.

My daughter’s brother in law ,Lake Saint Louis ,Missouri

Shane was the brother in law of my oldest daughter. I’ve been to many birthday parties in the last 10 years where Shane was there. He could make anyone laugh. And his loud belly laugh is unforgettable. Shane and I had a conversation once about quilting, as that is my hobby. He told me about a quilt that he once made as well. My heart breaks for his family. RIP Shane, you are already greatly missed.
