The family of Rick Switala have my deepest sympathy and will be in my thoughts and prayers. He was a good friend and classmate. I have known Rick fron kibdergarten thru High School and beyond I have fond memories of playing baseball with him in the 3&2 baseball league and basketball with him at the Cathedral of St Peter grade school. As captain of the class of 1970 Bishop Ward HS basketball he made us all proud of him on and off the court. RIP My Good Friend. Leo M. Chop

My condolences to the Switala family, to the nieces, nephews and all the family. We grew up on Sandusky in KCK across the street from the Switala's. We played together and school together at Saint Peter's. Later, I would run into Rick at Security Bank, as he followed in his father's footsteps. When I went back to Saint Peter's for Mass, Rick was the usher. We shared birthdays, and always got together for lunch. We'll miss Rick, his smile. The picture says a lot about Ricky. Goodbye our friend. You'll r join your parents and Judy, Don and Nancy..

I was a good friend of Ricky's sister Nancy, and I spent a lot of time at the Switala house growing up. Ricky was always the nice big brother, and he and Nancy shared a special bond. I know life wasn't the same for Ricky after Nancy died, and now they are all together again. Rest in peace, Ricky.
