Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ricky’s family. Ricky and Cindy have been dear friends of ours for almost 30 years. Ricky and I shared the fact that we were both proud Southerners and loved good food. Ricky always had a smile on his face even while battling serious health issues. We had a seafood gumbo supper back in February. Ricky had us all laughing and carrying on! I loved Ricky St John. He was truly one in a million. He will be so terribly missed but we all know that he’s in Heaven making someone smile.

Dearest Cindy and family, you have my deepest sympathies for your loss of this great man. While I never got to meet Ricky St. John in person, I felt through the short conversations I had with him on the phone, and in the stories Cindy shared he was a true gem. And that if we had met we would have been fast friends. It is never easy losing someone who is such a special part of your world. Please know during this difficult time, your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

St. John family, we’re so sorry for you loss. Ricky was so kind and caring to us, as was Cindy. You adopted us and our kids when we moved in on January 15, 2004. You were the guy who could always give me ideas on how to Arkansas engineer a fix for the house! What a great person, and he was married to such a loving person. We lost touch when we moved to Paola in 2011 and for this I’m very sorry. God bless you Ricky. Roger and Logan

What a great obituary. You painted a perfect picture of the Ricky St. John I know. If you did not feel better after visiting with Ricky, you had to blame yourself. He was truly a very good person.

Cindy, Sherry, Kim, & John and your families, please accept our deepest sympathy on the loss of Ricky. He was a fine man and a good soul indeed. While we have been gone from Kansas for over 15 years now it is not hard at all to recall Ricky’s infectious personality and good nature. Those traits always filled the room when we were together and extended to the many baseball games as sat together in the stands while John and Stephen played for the Tornados or in the gym when they were playing basketball. It was part of our shared Boy Scout experiences on many campouts including the trip to Sea Base as well as the Caribbean Cruise we all took together before the boys graduated from Shawnee Mission West. Ricky was a person who enjoyed life and he helped all those he was around to enjoy life as well. It was a blessing for us to have had him as a part of our lives as we both raised families in Lenexa. It is evident that as fun-loving as Ricky was; he also took his responsibilities and duties as a father and grandfather serious. He had so much to be proud of in the family he has left behind as he takes up residence in the room that has already been prepared for him in heaven. Words cannot take away the loss that you each feel and the brokenness in your hearts at this moment; however, you know Ricky would want you all to carry on and fill the world with smiles and good cheer, looking out for others and helping them when they are in need just as he did. John will have big shoes to fill as his father’s only son, he will carry the St. John name forward and will need to impart his father’s wisdom to his own son Willet just as Ricky did to him so they both can proudly carry on in St. John traditions that Ricky shared with us all. We pray for the Holy Spirit to comfort you all. In deepest sympathy, Gary & Celeste Peteritas

Cindy and family - my deepest condolences on Ricky's passing. I came to work for IGA in March of 2019, and I am so glad I got to know Ricky before he retired. He was such a gentleman and quick with a smile - always made you laugh - and called me "Miss Saaarrraaah" in all his southern charm. I can still hear it now. He will be sorely missed. God got a good one when Ricky was called up.

Cindy - Susan and I are so sorry to hear of Ricky's passing. Ricky was a wonderful human being that would do anything for anyone. Though time would pass between when we'd bump into one another in Oak Hill, he always acted as if we'd just been together the day before. This is the first we heard about it or we would have been in contact sooner. If there's anything that you need or that we can do, please do not hesitate to reach out. Blessings.....
