Alan and Jean, Paula was one that would do anything for others. What a wonderful outlook she had. Glad to say she was a friend to me. I so enjoyed working with her to plan our 50 year high school class reunion, am sad she won't physically be with the glass to celebrate the planning she did. Paula was such a dear friend and one of the kindest most joyful person I have ever known. Paula and I were both from Sabetha and both ended up working at KUMC. We kept each other up to date when we heard news from Sabetha and she always raised my spirits whenever I saw her. Paula contributed so much to the succeses of KU Medical Center, from being a trouble shooter, quality supervisor, patient advocate. People tend to be hardest to deal with when they were sick or worried sick because of the illness of a loved one. Even in these dufficult situations, when Paula entered the room she brought a ray of light and hope and the feeling that the patient was going to get the best care possible. She lived life to its fullest. We just wish she could have been with us longer,

Dear Alan & Jean, We are heartbroken by Paula's passing. From our days at KUMC, on ski trips, as my bridesmaid and all the get-togethers and celebrations to follow, she was always the sparkle! We lost a dear friend but heaven gained a beautiful angel with a big laugh and mischievious twinkle in her eye. The world was better for her being in it. Keeping you in our hearts and prayers,

I was fortunate and blessed to be in one of Paula’s customer service class for new employees. Tools that she taught regarding empathy and understanding are now used everyday. She enjoyed spreading those messages and was so much fun in the class. I will forever keep that memory.

Prayers to Paula's family. I never worked directly with Paula but knew her from a customer service class and seeing her throughout KU Hospital over many years. She had such a calm spirit. I never saw her any other way but smiling. She would have conversation with you as though she's known you forever. Paula took great pride in teaching the customer service class. Paula had such a unique way of presenting situations in her customer service training classes. Rest in Peace Paula!

I was so saddened to hear of Paula's passing, and send my deepest condolences to your family. She was always a bright ray of sunshine, a warm heart, and concerned healthcare professional. She helped me get my first job at KUMed, and was always checking in on me. I absolutely loved running into her serendipitously at the hospital. It would absolutely make my day. She was always so concerned in my parents health, and made sure they were getting the best care. The community adored dear, cheerful Paula, and she is, and will be, greatly missed.

For Paula's Family and Loved Ones, I had the privilege of working with Paula in Pathology for many years and had actually met her initially back in 1990 when I started in Ophthalmology and took hospital orientation from her. Paula was an inspiration, very kind, and never forgot a face. I just heard today (5/10/22) that she had passed last month. I believe we were all so fortunate to have known her. Please accept my heartfelt condolences on your loss.
