So many laughs and good times together at Hope Lutheran sporting events and at Cedar Rapids and Valpo basketball tournaments. Paula and I were both from Sabetha and both ended up working at KUMC. We kept each other up to date when we heard news from Sabetha and she always raised my spirits whenever I saw her. Paula contributed so much to the succeses of KU Medical Center, from being a trouble shooter, quality supervisor, patient advocate. People tend to be hardest to deal with when they were sick or worried sick because of the illness of a loved one. Even in these dufficult situations, when Paula entered the room she brought a ray of light and hope and the feeling that the patient was going to get the best care possible. Prayers to Paula's family. I never worked directly with Paula but knew her from a customer service class and seeing her throughout KU Hospital over many years. She had such a calm spirit. I never saw her any other way but smiling. She would have conversation with you as though she's known you forever. Paula took great pride in teaching the customer service class.
