It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Nidal Al-Harir. Nidal was born on January 2, 1946, Tartus, Syria, and passed away on January 7, 2025.
She was the heart of compassion for her family. As a loving mother, she nurtured her children with unwavering care and dedication. She was also a devoted wife who created a home filled with warmth and kindness. As a grandmother, she brought joy to her grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Throughout her life, Nidal embraced hardships with remarkable patience and grace. Her gentle spirit touched the lives of many, and her legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire those who knew her.
Nidal is preceded in death by her husband, Suhel Moussa, her brothers Samir, Nihad, Bahjat, Jawdat, and Fouad Al-Harir, her sisters Ain Al-Hayat and Samira Al-Harir, and her grandson, Michael Tamer.
She is survived by her children, Halla, Amal, Samer, Rami, and Caroline Moussa, and her grandchildren, Nicole Veatch, Caitlin and Megan Salloum, Karen and Karla Moussa.
She will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Nidal's memory will live on in our hearts, and her spirit will continue to guide us.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 10, at the Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia Lenexa, KS. A memorial service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, at St. Basil Antiochian Orthodox Church, 9302 Riverview Ave. Kansas City, KS. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS. To honor her memory, followed by a mercy meal and a celebration of life at 11:30 a.m. at Sidos Cuisine, 10150 W. 119th St. Overland Park, KS 66210. In lieu of sending flowers the family would appreciate donations may be made in her name to St. Basil Church.
