Kim (and Kit, twin brother) was born as a "A Double Feature" showing at the home of Ernest D Kammerer (in the theater business) and Fae Russell Kammerer, on October 19, 1944, in Bethany, MO. Kim lived in Vinton, IA for 14 years before the family moved to, Ames, IA. She graduated from Ames High School (1963) and went on to Iowa State University. Kim really enjoyed having met so many wonderful people at her part-time jobs at the theaters and Ames Fruit and Grocery, while attending Iowa State University.

She graduated from ECPI (Electronic Computer Programming Institute), in Sioux City, IA, where she then taught programming for 3 years. For the next 37 years, Kim worked for the Iowa Department of Transportation in Ames, IA., retiring in 2007. She worked most of her life part-time in theaters, was on an ambulance crew in Britt, IA, bowled, taught Defensive Driving for the IaDOT, taught Red Cross classes, President and Woman of the Year of ABWA (American Business Women's Association) and taught a computer system statewide for the IaDOT from which she won a PROUD Award.

She always loved working with people, hoping she could help.

Kim was always such a pleasant person. At one time we exchanged stories about Beanie Babies and she always loved a good garage sale. She was very dedicated to her family and talked about them often. I worked with her at DOT about the same number of years that she did. Always enjoyed talking with her. Love and sympathy to all her family Eileen
