Oct 13, 1943---Nov 29, 2025

Judith ‘Judy’ Ann Cobb (Kern), 82, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025, in her Overland Park, KS home.

The funeral will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, with visitation beginning at 9:30am, and rosary will precede the 10:30am Mass at Queen of the Holy Rosary, located at 7023 W 71st St, Overland Park, KS 66204. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery, 8300 Quivira Road, Lenexa, KS 66215, to immediately follow.

Judy was born October 13, 1943, to Ervin and Lucille Kern in Great Bend, Kansas. She grew up in her family home in Great Bend with her brothers Jerry and Donny. She graduated from Great Bend High school in 1961. After high school she went on to have two sons, Richard Cobb and Darrin Cobb. She moved to Lenexa, KS in 1970, where she met her life partner Wesley Sandridge. Judy worked at Farmers Insurance Group for 32 years. She also worked for Securitas as a security guard for 15 years until retirement (despite her small stature ha-ha), then began caring for her great grandchildren. She was lovingly coined “Nana” by her grandson Aaron Cobb, and that is what everyone knew her as. She enjoyed church on Saturdays, Chiefs football on Sunday, gardening (roses and lilac were her favorite flowers), traveling, caring for her Shih Tsu, Izzy, and a Mexico Coke with a cigarette. She loved her family deeply and will be missed by all.

She was proceeded in death by both of her parents, her brother, Donny Kern, her partner, Wesley Sandridge, and her grandsons, Ryan and Aaron Cobb. She is survived by her brother and his wife, Jerry and Kayleen Kern; her sons, Richard and Darrin Cobb and his spouse Tawana, six grandchildren and their spouses: Richard Kubiak, Maxwell and Cheyenne Cobb, Amber and Robert (Tyler) Christmas, Ashley and Terry Burks Sr., Kyle Banash, and Katy Banash, 10 great grandchildren: Zachary Kubiak, Terry Burks Jr, Aaliyah Burks, Lylliana Watters, Laylyn Watters, Skyye Burks, Tegan Christmas, Robert (Tyger) Christmas, Achilles Cobb, and Stormie Burks, along with many other beloved extended family members.

Aunt Judy was a sweet (and little bit sparky) lady. I have a lot of fond memories of our visits to Kansas City when we were young. Trips to Worlds of Fun, Oceans of Fun, and Royals games which almost always ended with a sunburn that Judy would treat with vinegar when we got back. She was the aunt who always had the cool cars. She was also the generous and loving lady that always had an open home that never turned away anyone in need. She will be dearly missed by everyone that had the good fortune of knowing her. We know she is heaven-bound and will be watching over everyone until we see her again. God be with Judy and the beautiful family she leaves behind. With heartfelt sympathy, Loren, Donna, Chandler, and Kylie Kern
