Jon Hefton was born on September 25th, 1956 and joined his parents in Heaven on April 16th, 2026. A lifelong resident of Wyandotte County, he was fifth generation Dotte. He graduated in 1975 from Washington High School, the first male of his family to do so. He was a long time member of Wyandotte County Masonic Lodge #3 - his lodge meant the world to him. Jon officiated at many Lodge funerals and helped members with degree work. Despite poor health, Jon continued to participate in Lodge functions. He was a lifelong carpenter by trade and helped build many homes with his father Hubert in Kansas City, Kansas. 

Jon loved to tell stories. You knew you were loved by him if he gave you a nickname. You know who you are. He was a man of strong faith and knows he's in a better place with his parents. 

Jon is preceded in death by his parents Hubert and Jean Hefton. He is survived by his wife Patti Hefton, step-daughters Amelia and Sally Urdang, brother Tim Hefton, cousins Mike and Kelly Hefton, niece Cammie Hefton and numerous other cousins.

Visitation will be from 10-11:00 AM with Masonic and Funeral Services following at 11:00 AM, April 21, 2026 at the Porter Funeral Home, 1835 Minnesota Ave. Kansas City, Kansas. Burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.
