Joann Marie Walahoski 94, of Overland Park KS passed away Friday 6, 2026. Joann, daughter of Mary & James Cassidy was born on November 2,1931 in Kansas City MO. Joann graduated from St. Mary's Nursing School in 1952. She was a caring and loving nurse for over 50 years. Joann was dedicated to her patients and the teaching of medicine at Goppert Family Care Center most of her career. Joann married Anthony (Tony) Walahoski in 1956 and they raised four children in Mission KS.

Tony preceded Joann in death in 2015, as did her daughter Annette Rittmaster, both her beloved grandsons, Anthony Walahoski, Andrew Rittmaster and her son in law John K Bestor. Joann is survived by her children, Roberta Bestor, Thomas (Karla) Walahoski, Cindy (Bruce) Bilger, and her beautiful granddaughters, Emily (Sam) Badger, Amy (Matt Wurm) Bilger, Ciara Walahoski, and Gabriela Walahoski. She was also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends. 

Visitation will be 9:30 am with a rosary at 10:30 am.  A funeral mass will follow the rosary at approximately 11:00 am on Tuesday, February 17th at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 11300 W 103rd Street, Overland Park KS.  Inurnment will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 8300 Quivira Road, Lenexa KS.

Please no flowers, the family suggests contributions to Catholic Community Health or MDA of Kansas City. Special thank you to the staff of Hospice Catholic Community Health and Villa ST Francis.
