Jeanine Marie Holbrook, 66, passed away peacefully on July 16, surrounded by her loving family.
Jeanine was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose greatest joy came from caring for others—both in her profession and at home. She graduated from Stormont Vail School of Nursing and later moved to Texas, where she met the love of her life, Sonny. They were married for 42 years and built a beautiful life together.
After becoming a mother, Jeanine chose to stay home and raise her three children—Jack, Jessie, and Dustin—pouring her heart into every moment of their lives. She was also the proud and adoring grandmother of her precious granddaughter, Marlowe.
Jeanine was known for her warmth, her sense of humor, and her deep care for those around her. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—playing pickleball with friends, lively games of Mah Jongg, and the laughter shared during book club happy hours. Her presence lit up every room, and her kindness left a lasting mark on everyone she met.
Breckenridge, Colorado, the family’s second home, held a special place in Jeanine’s heart and will be her final resting place—a peaceful mountain haven filled with memories of love, family, and joy.
She is survived by her husband, Sonny; her children, Jack, Jessie (Courtney), and Dustin (Juliet); and her granddaughter, Marlowe who brought her so much joy. Jeanine’s legacy lives on in the family she cherished and the lives she touched with her quiet wisdom and unwavering love.
She is preceded in death by her father, Robert, her sister, Amy, and her niece, Ashleigh.
Her kindness, gentle humor, and fierce dedication to her family and friends will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Jeanine’s memory by spending time with loved ones, offering a helping hand, or simply sharing a warm smile — just as she so often did.
A Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 PM followed by the visitation until 6:00 PM, Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at the Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia St., Lenexa, KS. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, July 23, at the Church of the Ascension, 9510 W. 127th St., Overland Park, KS.
