I’m so very sorry for your loss. She was such a sweet, kind, gentle, caring lady and will definitely be missed. She and I had talked about a trip to Mackinac together, but never managed to do it. You’ll be in my prayers Derrick, Linea and Janet.

Although Jean was my cousin, it wasn’t until I visited her home with her sister, Emily, a few years ago that I truly came to know her. I had always known she was a quilter, but I wasn’t prepared for the sheer artistry and mastery of her work. Her home was a living gallery—quilts lined the staircase, adorned the living room, and filled every corner. Some were beautifully finished, others still in progress, but each one reflected a deep love and devotion, cared for as tenderly as one might care for their own children. And her love for her own children was just as evident—steadfast, unwavering, and full of grace. It was a gift to have met you, Derrick, Linea, and Janet. May the peace that surpasses all understanding be with you now, in this time of deep sorrow. Karmen Artmann, Arvada CO

This is a shock. She was showing some of her gorgeous quilts at our guild meeting a few months ago. She was an outstanding, precise, creative quilter. God bless the family and friends, and cherish her memory.

Jean, I love you. I will miss you so much. I will miss the debates and challenges we would have for hours on the phone! I will miss visits at the farm with you. I will miss laughing with you. I will miss the long conversations about sewing and the explanation how you made quilts... learned so much from you. We will hold on to fond memories until we meet again. I thank God for having you as my sister. God has watched over you and decided it was your time for the kingdom of heaven. Peace be with you. Love you to the moon and back. Love always, God Bless. Love Bonnie

My deepest sympathy to Jean’s children, friends and relatives. I knew Jean as a fellow member of the Starlight Quilter’s Guild. She was a talented quilter and a lovely person with a good sense of humor. I remember her showing one of her early quilts at our 40 year anniversary meeting and making a funny remark about it. May she rest in peace and may God heal your broken hearts.

Derrick, Linea, & Janet - Your Mom was such a great lady! Faye would talk with her for an hour or two every week. I was always impressed when Jean and her sisters & Mom would all be together - it would usually turn into a big Laugh Factory! The big comfort for me is knowing that Jean knew Jesus as her Saviour! We will all miss her!
