Jared was born on December 30,1992, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Mike and Jeanne Davis. He joined his big sister, Anna Jo, and together they made the family complete. We are forever a family of four.
Jared grew up in Olathe, Kansas, with his family. As a kid, on any given weekend, Jared could be found at the local Blockbuster-- or as he called it "Blusbuckner"-- hunting for and mastering the latest PlayStation game. Jared and his Dad also spent many weekends together at the movie theater watching the newest action film. Jared did not like birthday cake, so most birthdays he chose to have his candle in a big bowl of popcorn. Even as a kid, he was known for his good sense of humor and his wit.
Jared began his food service career at Garozzo’s Ristorante in Olathe, where he discovered his passion for cooking and hospitality. Here he started developing lasting relationships in the local restaurant community. He later worked for Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse, where he learned the art of a perfect steak-- something he mastered at home, too. He stepped away from food service for a few years, working for DH Pace Company. This endeavor allowed him to continue to hone his customer service skills, but working behind a desk was not a good fit for him.
About four years ago, Jared returned to food service with Jack Stack Barbeque Catering in Overland Park. He loved his job, coworkers, and the community that it brought him. He had found his niche. Through catering, Jared had the chance to see new places, meet new people, and experience moments he might not have otherwise. His family is so grateful that he found a job with a company-- and a team-- that brought him such opportunities.
When Jared found something, he loved, he gave it everything he had. His passion for gaming started early and grew into something truly special-- he became well-known in the global gaming community for his skill and expertise. He also got involved in the local drone racing scene, earning several awards along the way. Whether competing, flying for fun, or using his drone to play hide-and-seek with his nephews, Jared found ways to make his hobbies bring joy to others.
Jared had exposure to motorsports from a young age. In recent years, he discovered a whole new love of motorcycles. His 2020 Yamaha MT-07 was his pride and joy. As he did with all of his hobbies, Jared poured his heart and time into learning, improving, and pushing himself and his bike to their fullest potential. Many knew him as, “the guy on the blue MT-07," recognized not only for his riding ability but also for his kindness and enthusiasm. Anytime Jared had an opportunity to interact with others, especially kids, he enjoyed sharing his passion. He wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to let a kid sit on his bike or twist the throttle. These moments brought them smiles and gave him joy. This was one of the many ways he showed his love and kindness for others.
Two of Jared's constant companions were his beloved ginger cats, Lucius and Archibald (Archie). They were his comfort, his laughter, and loyal shadows.
Jared’s family loved and cherished him. His parents are Mike and Jeanne Davis, barely older sister, Anna Jo Davis, and her family Chris Morales and their sons. Jace, Ryder, and Eli were Uncle J's best buddies.
Jared was blessed to have all four grandparents, Blaine and Jo Davis, and Gene and Anna Marie Patterson. He was adored by his four aunties, Auntie Kelly (Tom Helling), Auntie Becky (David Anderson), Auntie Janice (Carl Cook), and Auntie "Pooh" Nancy (Jeff Piker), along with eleven cousins, their families, and more friends and loved ones than could ever be counted.
