James "Jim" Redmond, a beloved husband, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully December 8, 2024 at Olathe Hospice House. Born in Saint Joseph, MO on October 9, 1952, Jim lived a life full of travel and adventure.
Jim is survived by his devoted wife, Brenda, and her son, Justin Lillich (wife Stacey), and granddaughters Madeline, Claire, and Morgan Lillich of Overland Park, KS. He also leaves behind his loving sisters: Mary Redmond of Overland Park, KS; Nancy Tabardel (husband Jean-Marc Fouquet) of Margerides, France; and Patricia Smithson of Overland Park, KS. Jim's memory will be cherished by his brother, Robert Redmond, and wife Laura of Mission Hills, KS, along with nephews, nieces, great-nieces, and cousins.
An avid photographer, gardener, and traveler, Jim embraced life's simple pleasures. His love for flying was evident in his pursuit of becoming a pilot. Jim's educational journey included attending the Cathedral School of Saint Joseph, MO, Bishop Lillis High School, UMKC-University of Missouri-Kansas City, and the University of Kansas. He was a proud Eagle Scout and dedicated 40 years of his life to a career with Burlington Northern Santa Fe.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, John and Virginia Redmond, his brother John Redmond, and brothers-in-law Dwain Dewey, Walt Smithson, and Jean-Claude Tabardel.
