Jack Walter Parker, 75, started his heavenly life July 24, 2024. He was most recently a resident of Good Samaritan Nursing Home, but before that a longtime resident of Overland Park. Jack graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1966 and attended Kansas State University before serving in the Air Force during Vietnam. Upon returning to the United States, he completed his Bachelor of Science degree at Chapman University in Riverside, CA.
Jack started his career in data processing at Kansas State University and continued working in Pennsylvania and Kansas City metro.
He married his high school sweetheart, Cheryl Ross in 1977. They raised two children, Brian and Kimberly. Together, they provided video services from 1996 until 2017.
Jack was a member of Lenexa Baptist Church.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Betty (Perkins) Parker. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, his brother Mark Parker and wife Holly, his son Brian Parker and wife Rachel, his daughter, Kimberly Parker, and seven grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Ascend Church (15865 S. Ridgeview Rd, Olathe), on August 9th from 4:30-6:00 p.m. as well as a Celebration of Life on August 10th at 10:00 a.m. The family requests that remembrances be made in the form of contributions to Wycliffe Bible Translators with preference for the work of Jack’s son, Brian Parker and his family (ministry #200586, or https://www.wycliffe.org/partner/ve85e1).
