With heavy hearts, we announce that Iris Antonia McNally, a loving wife, devoted mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at home with her family in Olathe, Kansas, on September 2, 2025. She was 63 years old.
A visitation will be held at 9:00 a.m. with Funeral Mass following at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 5, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 21650 W. 115th Terr. Olathe, KS. Burial will follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Lenexa, KS.
Iris was born on January 17, 1962, in Montelíbano, Córdoba, Colombia, into a large and loving family of eight children, with six brothers and one sister. From an early age, she carried a strength and warmth that would shape the lives of everyone she met.
On May 2, 1999, Iris married James McNally, the love of her life. Together they lived in Saudi Arabia for over 16 years, where they embraced adventure, explored the world, and later settled in Kansas to raise their son, Adrian, born in 2003. Their home was also filled with love for their family dog, Jordy Jordan, a collie mix who became her “baby” and constant companion for the past 13 years.
Iris devoted her heart to serving others. She worked at a pregnancy clinic, where her love for children shone brightly. Just as she poured her care into her gardens and flowers at home, she filled her work with the same tenderness and joy—helping to save the lives of many unborn children who now have full and bright futures because of her compassion. At St. Paul’s parish, she gave her time generously through the welcome committee, where she not only greeted others with joy but also helped set up the temporary adoration chapel each year for the Welcome Retreat—a labor of love that created a sacred space for prayer and renewal.
She was known for her famous carrot cake, her love of gardening, her passion for dancing, and especially her joy in singing along to Latin music. While she wasn’t exactly known for hitting the right notes, she sang with such enthusiasm that her laughter made the music unforgettable.
After making Kansas her home, Iris became an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, with special admiration for kicker Harrison Butker.
Iris is survived by her husband, James McNally; her son, Adrian McNally; her six brothers and sister; her beloved collie Jordy Jordan; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She will be remembered for her unwavering strength, her boundless generosity, and her heart that bloomed like a garden of love. Her spirit will continue to live on in the countless lives she touched.
