George Harry Mallon, 75, of Shawnee, Kansas, died Monday, September 6, 2021 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, September 11, at Porter Funeral Home 1835 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, KS. The Inurnment will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 13, at Leavenworth National Cemetery, 150 Muncie Rd. Leavenworth, KS.
George was born September 24, 1945, in Kansas City, KS. He graduated from Washington High School in Kansas City, served in the Air Force from 1963-1969 as a radar repairman, and worked as an electrician in Local 124 where he was a member for 52 years. He enjoyed snow skiing and fishing (though he rarely caught anything). He is survived by his wife, Wilma Mallon, Shawnee, KS, his son, George Mallon, Lee’s Summit, MO, daughter, Jenny McCoy, Lake Winnebago, MO, three stepsons, Tim Defrees, Leavenworth, KS, Frank Defrees, Liberty, MO, and Donnie Defrees, Rutledge, TN, two brothers, Tom Mallon, Parkville, KS and Steve Mallon, Basehor, KS, three sisters, Kay Harris, Kansas City, KS, Diane Gossage, Olathe, KS, and Zita Attebury, Rockport, TX, and 10 grandchildren.
