Feb 09, 1955---Mar 15, 2026

Gary W. Abraham passed away at his home in Kansas City, Kansas, on the morning of March 15, 2026. He was a wonderful, funny, and caring person to all who knew and loved him.

Gary was born on February 9, 1955, to Clyde and Betty Abraham in Kansas City, Kansas. A proud lifelong “Dotte,” Gary cherished his roots and the community he called home. He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde (1998); his mother, Betty (2007); and his big brother and best friend, Phil (2025).

He is survived by his sister, Janet of Kansas City, Kansas; nieces Julie (Matt) McElroy of Brentwood, Tennessee, and Amanda of Woodstock, Georgia; nephew Bradley (Lindsey) of Canton, Georgia; and his beloved great‑nieces and great‑nephews: Ryan, Owen, and Anna; Joshua, James, and Ava; and Emma and Penelope. Gary also leaves behind many cousins and friends who will miss him dearly.

Gary worked at several jobs in his youth, including General Motors, Sunshine Biscuit, Robinson Shoe Rack, and KC Slugger. He later retired from Triangle Sales in 2019.

A lover of sports, Gary played 3&2 baseball on several teams in his youth, often coached by his father, Clyde. A knee injury eventually sidelined him, but he later enjoyed playing softball and basketball with friends. Gary also loved fishing and owned several bass boats—fishing was truly his passion. He enjoyed building things with his hands and took pride in working on projects. There was no bigger fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals, and the Kansas Jayhawks, than Gary.

Gary was genuinely kind, generous, and funny. He would give you the shirt off his back to help anyone. A simple man who was happy and content, Gary loved his family more than anything in the world. He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing and loving him.

Though his body is no longer here, Gary’s kindness, love, and influence live on. He remains present in shared stories, laughter, and the values he held dear.
