Francis "Frank" Joseph Fox, 90 years young, of Lenexa, Kansas, passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024 at Lakeview Village Care Center, surrounded by his loving family.

The Rosary will be prayed on Monday, July 22, at 9 a.m. with visitation from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 13615 W. 91st St., Lenexa, KS. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m by Frank's brother, Rev. Thomas Fox, OFM.  A private family ceremony will be held at Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests a memorial contribution to Special Olympics or Autism Speaks.

Frank was born February 10, 1934, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of James Vincent and Marie Laura (Schwegman) Fox. He attended St. Joan of Arc elementary school and graduated from Cathedral High School in Indianapolis, Indiana. He earned his bachelor’s degree in 1956 from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. Upon graduation he served his country for two years in the US Army.

Frank met the love of his life, Mary Claire “Claire” Hasecoster on a blind date while in college and they were married April 12, 1958, at St. Aloysius Gonzaga Parish, Bridgetown Road, Cincinnati, Ohio.

His career was a solid tenure with General Motors. He applied his managerial skills and accounting expertise for over 36 years until he retired in 1992 as Comptroller of the Fairfax Plant in Kansas City, Kansas.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his older brother John Fox, his brothers-in-law Don Seal, and John Gentry. On his wife’s side by Howard and Joan Espelage, and John Kallmeyer.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mary Claire “Claire”, their six children and their spouses: Frank and Kathy (Kanous) Fox; Jim and Anita (Jackman) Fox; Andy and Laura (Gish) Fox; Kathleen Fox; Mike and Cindy(Fox) Hays; Tim and Heidi (Riskey) Fox.

Their grandchildren:

Brian and his wife Laura, Mark and his wife Kait, Matthew, and Allison; Kassidy and Dustin, Haley and her husband BJ, and Haley's mother Michelle, Emily and her husband John, and Mary; Zach and Alice, Alex, Ethan, and Roni, and their mother Deborah Fox; Ben and his wife Stephanie, Amanda, Mike and his wife Hannah, Corrin, and Jimmy; Nichole, Courtney, Adam and Chassidy.

Their great grandchildren:

Vinny, Wyatt, Lincoln, Levi, Lenni, Jordan, Isaac, Lily, Lexi, Lucy, Cooper, Libi, Emmett, Sydney, Lucas, Wesley, Easton, Lennox, Bennet, Ellie, and Olivia.

He is also survived by his brother Rev. Tom Fox, OFM, his sisters Mary Seal and Kathie Gentry, and his wife’s cousin Carol Kallmeyer.

Through the years he enjoyed annual family vacations, fishing, traveling, playing cards, and spending time with loved ones and friends. He and Claire are avid Kansas City Chiefs fans, having held season tickets for the better part of a decade. (How ‘bout those CHIEFS?!)

His love for God was evident by his generous charitable contributions of time, talent, and treasure including serving his parish community for many years as an usher at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. His legacy as a devout Catholic, faithful husband, and loving father/grandfather, will live on in our memories forever.

Dear Claire & Fox Family, Our hearts are heavy with your loss. Though I am writing this for my mother, Mavis, I recall fondly how my Dad, Ed O'Leary Jr. (RIP July 16, 2022) a fellow Xavier classmate and life-long friend of Frank would just laugh and laugh when they were together! Dad and Frank are certainly stirring up trouble now. Our hearts are with you all at this time. My mother, Mavis O'Leary, credits herself with setting Claire & Frank up on a blind date! She says she "knew they were meant for each other!" I hope to bring Mavis and Claire together again soon, unfortunately she cannot attend the funeral Mass but sends her best to all of you, especially Claire and Father Tom Fox. My sincere condolences, Erin O'Leary
