Apr 07, 1934---May 30, 2025

Frances was born to Arthur and Leah (Sweany) Lindsey in Kansas City, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Richard Lindsey and Sarah Sue Lindsey McClure.

Frances shared a full and loving life alongside three important partners. She shared many formative years with her former husband and the father of her six children, Leonard Hachinsky. In 1974, Frances married Wayne Brunner, gaining four beloved stepsons and building a beautiful blended family until Wayne’s passing in 1990. In 1995, Frances married Jack Fletcher, her devoted companion and “forever angel.” They shared many joyful years together, enjoying travel and dining out, until his passing in 2016.

Proud of her Kansas City, Kansas roots, Frances found great joy in family and faith. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother—always eager to share stories and tally the latest count, which included 25 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She treasured her large, blended family and loved each member deeply, whether near or far.

Frances had many passions: her flowers, painting, bird watching, music boxes, movie days, ice cream, and water aerobics. A talented tole painter, her artwork lives on in the homes of her children and grandchildren. She was a longtime member of Hope Lutheran Church in Shawnee, KS, and previously Grace Lutheran Church in Kansas City, KS.

She is survived by her children: David (Angie) Hachinsky, Kevin (Leslie) Hachinsky, Annette Stithem, Shaun (Denise) Hachinsky, Kathy (Joe) Pluff, Mike (Marla) Brunner, and daughters-in-law Jan Brunner, Lisa Price, and Vivian Brunner. She was preceded in death by her sons Lenny, Patrick, and Skip Brunner, and Brian Hachinsky.

Frances also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends—including special recognition to cousins Bryan and Susan, her good friend and neighbor Candace Shockey, and her best friend of 84 years, Jerre Claire.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Virginia, the residents and staff at Top Care Home Plus, and the pastors and congregation of Hope Lutheran Church for their love and support during her final days.

Frances continued to pray “Jesus, Tender Shepherd, Hear Me” nightly for 91 years until her final days. In her final weeks—through many storms—this prayer brought her peace. The last line reads, “Through the darkness be Thou near me, keep me safe till morning light.” On May 30th, she awoke in a new light. She is safe forever.

I very much enjoyed spending time with Fran during Water Aerobics, Exercise Class, Lunches, and going to the Movies. I loved hearing her history and memories. She had a very interesting life and will be missed at Town & Country Villas. I’m thankful the Lord let me cross her path and allowed me to spend time with her.
