Frances E. Hall went to be with Jesus on Thursday, September 17, 2026.
Frances (Fran, Frannie, Frankie) was born on May 10, 1943, in Kansas City, Missouri to Albert M. and Blanche L. (Hunt) Canfield. She attended Allen Grade School, Westport High School, and KC Junior College. Using her secretarial and accounting skills she worked at Spencer Chemical, Gulf Oil, Gabler’s Nursery, Premium Financing Specialists and finally at NAIC as an insurance fraud analyst until she retired.
She lived in Kansas City, Missouri until she married and moved to Kansas. She resided the longest in Lenexa, Kansas until she moved to the Avenue 81 Assisted Living complex in Overland Park, Kansas in 2024.
Fran was a private person but on the other hand she could easily make friends and be a bit spunky at times. If you liked sports, you could easily have been a fast friend. She loved to watch collegiate sports (basketball, football, etc.) and was especially fond of KU! And the KC Royals were a favorite as well. If she was not at the ballpark with her sister and brother-in-law or niece, she was right in front of the TV. But the BIG one and most favorite were her Kansas City Chiefs. For many years she had season tickets and no matter the weather, she would be there cheering them on which meant that she had ALL the Chief’s and winter gear to complete the entire experience. And you did not dare bother her on the phone if she was watching sports on TV unless you were that one special person that she texted during all kinds of televised sporting events. She also dabbled a bit in snow skiing as a member of the Kansas City Ski Club.
Fran attended Overland Park Lutheran Church. She worked on the alter flowers with her sister, Charlotte and then continued to use her floral arranging talents at church once her sister was no longer able to work beside her.
Fran was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Blanche Canfield, her sister and brother-in-law, Charlotte and Fred Gabler, her nephew-in-law, Bob Allen, her great-nephew, Bradley Gabler, her grand-parents, many aunts, uncles and cousins as well as her beloved buddy, Max.
She is survived by her nephew John (Kathryn) Gabler, her nieces Lynn (Tim) Long and Kathy Allen as well as a great-niece and great-nephews John D Gabler, Aaron Gabler, Jason Barrett, Cassi (Scott) Baltuska, four great, great nieces and nephew, and many friends and loved ones that touched her life.
We will all miss her sweet and spunky smile. Please join us on Friday, September 25 at 12:30 pm for a brief visitation with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 pm at the Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, KS 66215. Burial will follow at Mount Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131.
