Evelyn Gronau Lauber, 93 of Lenexa, KS, passed away April 25, 2026 at Westchester Village of Lenexa, surrounded by her loving family. The visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m. with the Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 29 at the Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia, Lenexa, KS. Burial will follow at Johnson County Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Vitas Hospice.

Evelyn was born January 18, 1933 in Denison, Iowa, the daughter of Herbert and Eunice (Glad) Ganau. When she was 7 years old she moved to Kansas City, KS and graduated from Wyandotte High School. In 1951 she married George Lauber and they lived in Mission Kansas before Evelyn moved to Lenexa in 2018 after George's death. Evelyn had worked as an office manager for a Doctor's Office and was a member of the Medical Managers Association.  She was a former member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George and 2 brothers, Donald and William Gronau. Evelyn is survived by 2 daughters and their husbands, Kathy and Walter Neal, Diane Lauber and Dan Stainbrook, a grandson, 2 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
