Eileen Marie Marshall (Tomasich), age 65, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away unexpectedly in her home on Sunday, November 10, 2024. Born on November 11, 1958, Eileen was one of six children of Michael and Harriet Tomasich, Kansas City, Kansas.
Eileen was a graduate of Bishop Ward High School where she was a part of the Lightside music group. She was well known for her singing voice and would later entertain thousands of people over 19 years as the lead singer of the City Limit band that would perform at weddings and events around the Kansas City area.
While she was a secretary at Martin Gillette, Eileen met Clark Marshall with whom she would marry in September 1991.
Eileen was an incredible cook and it was one of the best ways she showed her love. For many years, she would have her family over for weekly dinners and she always made sure you got to pick what you wanted her to make for your birthday. Clark was known as the “Envy of the Lunchroom” at work and would have co-workers willing to pay for her brownies.
She loved her family more than anything and had a special way of bringing them together and cultivating a love and bond between everyone that was held together with laughter and inside jokes. It was common for friends of the family to become family too. Eileen welcomed everyone into her home. Over the years, hundreds of people have simply visited or attended get togethers such as her 3rd of July party or to watch the Super Bowl every year.
Eileen was also known for her talent of quilting, sewing, and crocheting. She filled her home with homemade blankets, pillows, koozies, bows, and decorations. And she also made sure you had her creations in your home too.
Besides her family, Eileen loved football. She was part of a fantasy football league in which she had won multiple times. And she would let you know anytime she beat Clark the week they faced each other. Her competitive nature will be missed. The family is thankful the Chiefs pulled out a miracle victory over the Broncos the day she passed and thinks she may have had a hand in it.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Harriet Tomasich, and her stepfather, John Eriks; her brother, Michael Tomasich; and her sister, Annette Tomasich.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Clark Marshall; her children: Adam Schwarz (Melissa Osborn), Karrie Glover (Devan Glover), and Rachel Pedersen (Jordan Pedersen); her beloved grandchildren, grandsons Logan and Carson Schwarz, granddaughters Grace Rome, Ella Glover, and Parker Pedersen; her sisters, Karen Doty (Rusty Doty), Teresa Norton, and Deanne Stephens (John Stephens); along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members.
A visitation is scheduled for 3 pm, followed by service at 4 pm on Monday, November 18, 2024 at Porter Funeral Home 1835 Minnesota Ave, Kansas City, KS 66102.
